Gwendolyn
is a native of Gaston County and graduated from Gardner Webb
University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human
Service. She is employed with the Gaston Chamber as Mentor /
Job Developer to the Workfirst participants of the Department of
Social Services.
Gwen comes with 15 years of
mentoring experience; 10 of which were with Gaston College's Human
Resource Development Program. She actively assists high-risk,
disadvantaged, low socioeconomic families in achieving
self-sufficiency. She provides participants with employment
information; direct participants to community
based support agencies, as well as, job coach, and provide
guidance. Gwen identifies specific employment opportunities
for the Workfirst program participants and serves as liaison to
Workfirst, Employers, and the Gaston Chamber of Commerce
